Working with basic facts is more than just memorizing the addition table. If a child understands why the fact is true, they will be able to use that knowledge to answer more difficult questions.
The following addition strategies are helpful in building that knowledge. This page will give students ample practice time to explore these strategies even further than what is done in class.
