Buoyancy and Boats is a fun, interactive unit where we explore how boats can float, move through water, carry a load and do all this without capsizing! We then use this knowledge to design and build our own boats. It's a fun unit for everyone!

Floating and Sinking Experiment (mess free!)Test how long it takes a ball to sink in cylinders of different liquids in this simulation. This activity recreates an experiment. Pupils test the sinking time of a ball in measuring cylinders of familiar but different liquids. They then graph their results and use them to predict in a new but related situation.

Float or SinkThis activity is a great start to the unit on Buoyancy and Boats. Students will predict which of 5 objects will float in three different liquids. They then test their predictions.
